Beth Israel Deaconess taps The Right Place and more digital health deals

Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center will work with digital health startup The Right Place to help connect its post-discharge patients to the best skilled nursing facilities for them.

"Our goal is to help hospitals like BIDMC reduce the administrative burden of matching patients to the right place of care," Katherine Chambers, cofounder and CEO of The Right Place, said in a statement. "It isn't efficient or sustainable for SNFs to chase voicemails and email responses while weeding through large, static PDF documents and hundred-page faxes to confirm beds. With The Right Place, what used to take hours, or even days, can be done in minutes with one simple communication tool that distills relevant clinical referral data and provides instant information on bed availability.” More.

Helix also announced a partnership this week with health testing platform EverlyWell. With Helix, Everlywell is launching three new tests: one for food sensitivity, one for metabolism, and one for breast milk DHA (an omega-3 fatty acid).
