Private insurer Medibank adds telehealth to portfolio and more briefs

Also, Heidi Health has announced a new partnership for its New Zealand expansion.

Medibank now owns telehealth platform Medinet

ASX-listed private health insurer Medibank has completely acquired telehealth company Medinet. 

The company initially made a A$10 million ($6 million) investment in the latter in 2022. 

"The team at Medinet has some incredible capabilities in health system interoperability which will be pivotal to the connected experiences that we know will have a big impact on our customers and the community," Medibank Group Lead for Digital & Ventures Rob Deeming said about their company's latest acquisition.


Heidi Health announces New Zealand partnership

Melbourne-based Heidi Health has recently partnered with a healthcare distributor to expand its AI-powered medical scribe in New Zealand. 

It will work with Hendrix Health to optimise its clinical documentation tool to align with and meet the requirements of New Zealand clinicians. 

Heidi recently raised $17 million in additional Series A funding for its expansion and introduction of new functionalities, including pre-chart summary creation.


Magentus integrates specialist booking engine

Magentus has integrated Healthengine's specialist-specific booking engine into its cloud-based practice management software.

Based on a media release, Gentu now allows patients to book and pay for specialist appointments via integration with Healthengine's Specialist Suite. It also enables them to complete forms, request repeat referrals or scripts, and join waitlists online.
